About

Capture the moment, for it has already gone...

My photographic experience stems from my first job at the age of seventeen as a trainee press photographer, I feel privileged to have had my initial training in such a pressured environment and it has helped me to develop my own unique style that captures the moment in a realistic and compassionate way.

My interest in photography and particularly the social documentary aspect was directly influenced by the time I spent in the press industry, I have carried this invaluable knowledge and experience with me and it is still the foundation from which I work. Working comfortably under pressure, I am able to fully experience a moment through photographic capture, directly presenting that moment to the audience.

I find working with others very rewarding – one of the plusses of this type of work. My photography relies on the willing participation of people, all of my projects require a connection with my subject and the extended team I might be working with, this can be within unpredictable time frames from five minutes to a day or for many months.  I am interested in the lives that people lead, I am interested because everyone has faced difficulties and overcome hardship, as individuals as a collective or a community there is a story to be told.
